Hey guys!!!!!!!!! Guess who's back? Back again? ME!!!!! hahaha
So I am currently sitting in a hotel that I believe to be the location of a snuff film.... Ever seen the movie Vacancy.... ya, this is it! haha.
I was never sooo glad to see this cruddy old place as I was about 45 min ago. Backstory time: Me and my lovely youth group are heading to NAYC (North American Youth Congress). My trip actually started last night when, as I always do, I waited until the last minute to pack. After goin over the tedious details with Stephen (its tradition) haha, I finally collapsed in bed around 1:00- 1:30 this mornin. I was up at around 5 (those that know me, are aware what an accomplishment this was). My bestie, Stina called me just to make sure I was up and on my way..... bet she had no idea we'd be lost in sum 1 horse town only a few hours later.
We finally pulled out this mornin at 6:30 and sang/played games all the way to Kentucky (Games: VROOM, Up/Down, Big booty, Secret Picknick, Alphabet Picknick, Slaps, Bible Name, Copy, Paste, Delete Game, Songs: Sister Act Medley, Lean on Me, Oh Happy Day, Aint No Mountain High Enough, I'm A One God Apostolic, Frog Song, I am a C-H-R-I-S-T-I-A-N, Shackles)
We stopped by Kentucky Down Under for a lil excitement, where I broke my only pair of flip flops while I'm hundreds of miles from home, birds flew on my head, I petted kangaroos and sheeps, milked a cow, got closterphobic in a cave, got pooped on by a bird twice and bit by the same bird. Can I jus say that Christina is the best, she walked bare footed with me all through out that hot and dirty place jus cause my flip flops broke.
We got to the hotel where we found worms on the pillows, bugs on the walls, dirty bathrooms, holy curtains, a foot wide "balcony", no soap (hand or bath), no iron/iron board, broken light fixtures, holes in the blankets, stained furniture, a janked up tv stand, no air on our second floor, we had to get 2nd hand smoke to get to our room, and no elevator. But I am with the greatest young people ever, so it's all worth it!!! This is where youth group memories are made.
After getting back from an altogether dramatic dinner at the most redneck, hole-in-the-wall restraunt with sum pretty decent food, me and stina set off on our grand adventure. After stopping every 10 feet, we fianally got some direction of where we were headed. We turned around 6 times, flew over the train tracks, and finally made it to Wal-Mart.
The good times ended when we took the second right turn on the way home. After like 2 min, I point out that I really dont think we're goin the right way. Christina responds, "Well it has to be down here somewhere!" We traveled a little farther and came to a flashing light, where I once again informed Christina how I thought we were goin the wrong way. She still responds the same way and continues to drive another 15 miles. Finally, we both admit we are hopelessly lost in the middle of Kentucky at night. We frantically call for help to our pastor, who responds, "I'm asleep, what do you want?" (Thanx for the help Bro Mac) hahaha. After calling my friends from Dothan and frantically asking for prayer while me and Stina are dying laughin, we finally make our way back to this roach motel.
Can't wait to see what the rest of the trip holds.... we dont head home till Sat.
